💀 Gumdum Hardcore
Gumdum Hardcore is the one-life Bedrock add-on used on the Gumdum Hardcore server.
Players begin alive, play through the active season, and become spectators after death. The add-on also provides the Gumdum Realm Book launcher, Spawn Sanctuary behavior, season rules, local standings, and community award support. The companion website now supports published season memorials and the weekly Friday Respawn Report obituaries newsletter.
☠️ One life means one life. Emotional respawning is permitted. Character respawning is not.

Death and Spectator Rules

Hardcore standings should focus on survival state, season progress, and community achievement. They are not ordinary death-count rankings.
🏕️ Spawn Sanctuary
Spawn Sanctuary provides a safer starting area around spawn.
Current documented behavior includes:
- A protected spawn zone
- PvP disabled inside the sanctuary
- Friendly fire disabled inside the sanctuary
- A safer area for joining, orienting, and beginning the season
The repository also tracks a protected-only Spawn Sanctuary repair lane. Do not assume every terrain behavior is finalized until the target release is manually validated.

Hardcore supports local review of:

The public memorial wall and Friday Respawn Report are implemented website companions. Remote website leaderboard synchronization remains a separate feature and should not be inferred from memorial or newsletter availability.

📰 Weekly Obituaries Newsletter
The weekly Hardcore obituaries newsletter is now available under its public name, Friday Respawn Report.

Each Friday edition can collect newly published memorials and show:
- Memorial cards
- Fallen player gamertags
- Minecraft days survived
- Player-friendly causes of death
- Final memorial messages
- A weekly Gumdum opening and closing quote
Weeks with no fallen players can receive a no-deaths edition instead. Only successfully sent editions appear in the public archive, and eligible members can manage email subscription preferences through their Gumdum profile.
The newsletter is a website and server-side community feature. It is not required for Hardcore gameplay, and the add-on does not send email directly.

🛡️ Integrity Features
The current documented add-on lane includes manually validated anti-dupe containment and audit support for Gumdum-managed Realm Books.
Staff-side anti-xray and mining anomaly review exists in the repository, but its validation remains blocked pending complete ore-tracking settings. It is:
- Review-only
- Staff-side
- Not automatic punishment
- Not ready to describe as fully validated player-facing behavior
What Hardcore Does Not Do
- It does not provide Gravesite recovery
- It does not install Land Claims on the Hardcore server
- It does not require the website, API, Discord, DNS, or a database for core gameplay
- It does not make build success equal gameplay proof
Server Placement
Hardcore server:
Install Gumdum Hardcore only.
SMP server:
Do not install Gumdum Hardcore as part of the normal SMP add-on set.
Validation Notes
A compiled .mcaddon proves that the package was built. It does not prove:
- iPhone or iPad import
- Realm Book menus
- Spawn Sanctuary behavior
- Death transition
- Spectator behavior
- Standings
- Realm behavior
Those require Bedrock testing.
